Question(s):in "real life" can two people whom have no concept of what it would be like in real life to "go off the grid" survive?..
Answer:so far.... so good...... Retiring from a "high pressure International "corporate " job....after 31 years, found that the ladder was leaning against the wrong building...good news is that I have enough time to make course correction....

spent first night in Hobe Sound sneeking around neighbors units trying to figure out how to hook up septic hose....apparantley did ok...rangers didn't throw us out....definitely know the diff between blackwater and grey....thanks to RV Dreams.com website and not knowing enough to
know better.... we have come out on the good end....still some things to learn..just spent 1 hour trying to find the "secret" switch that allows us to switch from Antenna to Cable TV here in the SP in Santa Rosa beach...next door neighbors were more than happy to assist....didn't make it happen but had a great time tryin"..will try again tomorrow....other than the minor learning curve...this has been agreat experience..really happy not to be a caretaker anymore...doing what we want to do..(literally) WHEN we want to..what a concept!!!!...the tail is no longer wagging the dog.....happy new year to you all in 2012...!!!! don't have a lot of words wisdom other than..do it while and if you can.....no guarantees what tomorrow will bring...

Steve,
Welcome to the RV Dreams forums. Based on one of your comments, even though this is your first posting, you have been lurking around for a while. Hey, that is not a problem. We sometimes learn more when we aren't talking. (Or, writing in this case.)
Glad to see that things are coming together for you and the missus with the full time RV lifestyle.
Oh, and we all manage to keep on learning, so feel free to ask questions when the need arises..
May your New Year and your new life be blessed with God's blessings.
Terry

Steve, sounds like your getting it just right, it's fun slamming on the breaks of life and making a U turn in the middle of the road isn't it? Just keep going with your heart, your heads been leading the way long enough...have fun, welcome to the Forum....

You guys are my heroes. Good to have you aboard. About 24 months left before I retire. Doing long weekends and trying to pick the best rallies to attend.
Rallies might be a good thing for new folks to attend. I went to Hershey, PA to attend a rally and picked some some great information.
Safe travels
