I know that most swear by their dual pane windows. My question is for those who have a fifth wheel with the dual pane and have had it for 2 or 3 years or longer. Have any of you experienced having the seal break and gotten moisture between the panes? If you have, did you have it fixed and about how much did it cost?

That seems to be one of the continuous discussions over at the Carriage site and one of the reasons that we chose not to get them. I don't have any direct experience but would check out the forums of the units that you are considering to information on particular brands and issues.

We have dual pane windows and would not be without them again. Really makes a difference on both hot and cold days. They do not sweat in cold weather like single pane either. We have had two lose the seal but it takes awhile before the moisture builds up enough to really notice and it does not seam to affect the insulation factor very much either so you can live with it for some time before noticing it. Both were small swing out sections and were easy to replace by myself so no labor cost involved. First was still under warranty so no charge. The second one, Herr replaced at their cost which was $25.00 including shipping. They sent the wrong side and replaced it at no charge and told me to keep the one that was wrong so now I have a replacement if the other side goes bad. Herr has been very good to work with, especially after warranty has expired. Have also heard of two different service companies that will actually re-seal double pane windows but do not know about the cost or how successful that has been.

Our KZ Escalade is 5 years old, built in October, 2006 and has dual pane windows.Zeroproblems, moisture, or other bad things.Still perfect all around.We’re very pleased.
They are superior not only for weather insulation, but outside sound insulation. They make the rig significantly quieter from outside noise than our former rig that didn’t have dual pane windows and they don’t sweat either.
We would not purchase another rig without them.But I would choose my manufacturer carefully.

While we haven't had our coach long enough to develop any window problems, there was a thread over on a forum for DRV Suites owners. In one of those discussions, there was a mention of a business in Arkansas that fixes existing windows when they fog up.
I would suspect that if one knew the procedures undertaken, one would probably find businesses that to that sort of procedure just about anywhere.
You might check with any local window manufacturers for home dual pane windows. They might be of assistance.

Had double pane Hehr windows in our 07 Elite Suite. !st one lost a seal after 2 years (waranty was 1 year) It was a small window (12" X 18" non opening) which cost $75 from DRV. Had a glass place replace it for $120 more. One more went (about 3 year mark) but sold the trailer before replacing. New 5er (KZ Escalade) has Lippert double panes. No fogging yet but poorly built windows (my opinion). Had 5 windows removed and replaced in first 6 months.(warranty) I like double panes but I think you will have to replace them occasionally as they fail.
