After lurking around these forums for an embarrasingly long time, we've decided now is the time to introduce ourselves.
We are Mark and Catherine, counting down the last 3.5 years until we can ditch the homestead and hit the open road. We have a 2011 Cameo that we've purchased for the adventure and are trying to content ourselves short vacations until the big day.
Mark is an engineer for a defense contractor and Catherine is a project manager for a financial services company. Sort of the traditional, nine-to-five, paper-pushing existence that we will not be sad to leave behind. We have one last kid in college, then freedom.
We've enjoyed the positive focus of the forum as well as all of the information eveyone's been so generous to share. We look forward to reading about all of your adventures.

We know the feeling. Although we are also still working, the first step for us toward our retirement was to buy a TIFFIN 35 QBA. thought was we can have it paid off in the next couple years. Plan is to retire in 3 years then and have it paid off by then. Sell the home and travel for a year then either stay full time or get a small townhouse or condo and become extended travelers. We have 9 grandkids. Four boys here in northern Virginia and five more in Grand Rapids Michigan and tons of friends in California ( where we raised our 2 girls and lived for 25 years).
WELCOME TO GREAT ADVENTURES

Welcome Catherine and Mark! Congrats on purchasing your Cameo. My wife, Jody and I are pretty much in the same situation as you are - both working jobs, youngest son still in college, and can't wait until we are able to "hit the road". Looking forward to hearing about your adventures too! Hopefully, one day in the near future, we'll see ya on the road. Take care.
