Well, after closing on our house 2 weeks ago we are heading (flying) out to Elkhart Indiana Thursday 10/13 and will be at the NEXUS facility knocking on their door bright and early Friday morning.
We have been planning for almost a year now and after a good 5 months of indepth detail research we are very excited about the NEXUS Class C motorhome. We feel quite certain that we will be signing an order for a 31 foot Phantom for delivery around the end of March and be full timing come April 1 and on our way to Nova Scotia by early June and then onto Old Quebec Canada for Autumn and then Arizona for winter!!!
WOO-HOO!!!!!!!

Thanks Bob & Cheri - my best to you guys as well.
Loretta - we use to live in N. Scottsdale - it'nice to know this is our last winter in snow & cold!!!! We need to stay in Santa Fe as my DW has just published a middle grad novel and it will be easier to get the marketing started in an area we are use to. Once full timing, we plan on marketing the book to every book store we find along our journey!!!! :>)

Let me know when you get the book finished as I work in a library and we should put it there. We should be around the Glendale area if we don't try Quartzite. Keep us posted.

Good luck on the rig purchase and welcome to Indiana! Hopefully you will have a little time to explore while you are here. The trees are changing and it's looking like a very colorfull Fall Season. Elkhart and the surrounding area has a large Amish population, mostly in the smaller towns east. There are some beautiful farms and you will find a lot of Amish business' including bakeries, cheese shops, handcrafted furniture etc.
We love to spend time in that area so if you need any ideas on places to go or things to see, ask away.
Have fun on your trip, you guys must be excited .... I'm excited for you too!
Phil
ps: best cheeseburger in Indiana is at the Kock-A-Doodle (spelled with a "C") Cafe in Elkhart on Nappanee St. (SR 19).

You are going to have a tough time finding "healthy" food in the Elkhart area. It is more an area known for Amish buffets, one pound BLTs (a diner in Goshen) and big breakfasts. Don't even think of trying the Mexican, especially after New Mexico.
(Phil Bob: I will have to try the cheeseburger at the place you mentioned next time. I really like the Tuesday $3.99 bacon cheeseburger and fries at Between the Buns, especially since they have four bun choices and one is rye.)
If you swing by Elkhart Campground you might find Nick and Terry Russell of Gypsy Journal there but they will probably be busy working on the next issue.

Thanks Phil Bob. NEXUS has partnered with a local Amish cabinet maker and they make the cabinets for the RVs. Also a local furniture maker makes all the furniture. It's a short trip, in on Thursday afternoon and with Nexus on Friday and Saturday and fly back to SF on Sunday.
We will have some time on Thursday to explore and of course we HAVE to eat! Love cheeseburgers and bakeries!!! Thanks for the tip.
We are sooooo excited we are NUMB!!!!

RVPainter, have a safe journey and here's hoping that the Nexus RV's are everything you're anticipating they are! If you are fulltiming by April 2012 you should give thought to attending the RVDreams Rally in Texas!

Blu Cheese Burger? Doubt if they know there is any other cheese besides American and maybe Swiss at this place.
Think "workin man comfort food".
Have a safe trip and be sure to post a report on it.
