I moved myself and my son out of an apartment on the 5th floor at one of the businest cross streets in north america.
We are currently in a cottage in a small town while I research which RV(s?) to get to go full time.
I would really appreciate all of your thoughts on which types(s) to get.
Here's what I've researched so far:
I could have a 5th wheel that sits on our property (20 acres in the woods) and a truck with a camper on it.
I've also looked into keeping my little commuter car and putting all my capitol into a 5th wheel.
Another detail is that I'll have to travel 1 hour into the city to work about every two weeks or so, so I'll need somewhere to stay while I'm in the city, but need to balance that with getting good gas mileage. I'm used to my little Toyota Tercel, so I know I'm spoiled. I also want to tour around America with my son as part of our homeschooling (he's 8), or should I say motorhomeschooling!
Well, that's it for now.
Thanks and nice to meet you all!

Welcome to the forum Lux. Not sure if you already have the truck to pull the 5th wheel or haul the cab-over, so maybe a class C would work and allow you to tow your car behind and save the expense of a truck. Trucks big enough to perform the job will eat a lot gas if you use it for everyday driving for groceries and that trek into the city.

Can't have a truck camper and pull a fifth wheel. But Welcome to the Forum!
Putting a mobile residence on 20 acres is a good idea. Easy to hook up easy to leave for a week, month etc.
There is tons to learn and this is a good place to gain alot of knowledge.
