So I have read a few things about people changing their floors. I was under the impression that with slide outs you needed the carpet. We have a beautiful Am. BullDog who SHEDS- I would LOVE to get rid of the carpet. Suggestions????
Thanks

Well now that you asked......we just had our flooring delivered and we are replacing the carpet that is in our bathroom, hallway, and kitchen with a product called Kinectco. This flooring is planked like laminate but is soft(cushiony) and not shiny like laminate. It is not glued down and allows for movement. I have taken all the "before" pics and plan to take more as we progress. Should have some info in the next few days. Our carpet on the slides is in pretty good shape and we plan to leave it for this first project so this may not exactly help with what you are asking.

I would suggest that you contact the manufacturer of your RV and see what they have to say. Since we would have no idea of any "clearance" issues with rollers and other mechanisms, they will be your best source of information.

Terry, you are right. We have done a lot of projects throughout the years and taking this one on doesn't seem like it would be difficult. It is wrong to read a post and assume everyone is the same(yes, I do know what happens when we "assume" lol) A call to the manufacturer and hiring a professional would be the best advice.

I bought a used RV from a small, local dealer here in Charleston and one of their signature services is replacing carpet with "hardwood" floors. I don't know the brand of the flooring or any specs, but I can tell you that it works with our two slides just fine. More importantly, it is so easy to sweep and clean up after my Siberian Husky - as well as all the spills my nieces and nephews make!
If you're still considering this and haven't made any steps since you first posted this, let me know and I can put you in touch with the local dealer where I bought my RV - I'm sure he'd happily share what product he used for the flooring.
