If you are a vet or active service, Verizon will give you a 15% discount. All I had to do was take a copy of my DD-214 to the local verizon store and discount was applied to account.
Thanks Verizon

Jerry,
Does this 15% discount apply only to the purchase of a product or does it apply to the monthly charges?
The reason I ask is because we have been Verizon customers for a while with two phones, the 4G MiFi, and a new product that lets us plug in our regular home phone to work on the cellular system. If it could apply to the monthly charges, that could be a substantial savings.

O.k. Let me correct my last post. After looking over my entire bill, then calling Verizon for clarification on several issues, here's what I learned, both for my Employer Discount as well as a Veteran Discount which are the same:
1. The Discount Only applies to your Primary Cell Phone Line and not any other secondary lines; 2. The Discount Only applies to Cell Phones and does not apply to Mobile Broadband or IPad data plans; 3. The Discount Breaks down as follows: a. 15% for Access Minutes b. 12% for Data Usage c. 25% Discount for all Phone or Accessory purchases (You may have to go into the store, but they didn't say)
So, if you have two lines, only the Primary Line will have these discounts. The other will not.
Bottom line, it still saves you money so, if you're a Veteran or, your current Employer has a plan thru Verizon, you're eligible for the above discounts.
Sorry for the posting above. I'll delete my last post so I don't confuse anyone.

George, it is my understanding the 15% applies to the entire bill. Currently I only have MiFi with Verizon so that discount applies to my data use on MiFi. You will need a copy of your DD214 to set up the discount.
Jake is also correct as I have read that somewhere. Since I just started my account with Verizon, I'll update this once I get my next bill.
The discount is listed as Government employee and is apparently extended to vets.
