I just bought 8 tickets for the Rose Parade next January 2nd. We will probably do the overnight paid parking a few blocks from the parade route, but I'm also looking for an RV park for us to stay at a few days before and after. We are real newbies and will probably be renting an RV for a couple of weeks. (Although I do have my fingers crossed that we might buy one before then!)
Any advice or recommendations will be much appreciated! Has anyone done the RV parking thru Sharp seating? We are not up to just driving around and looking for a place to park. We do consider cost, but don't expect cheap.

For the Rose Parade & Bowl there are many Parking Lots that allow RV parking, Sharp Seating seems to be the clearing house for these lots. Here's the official tournament of roses site with info about RV Parking http://www.tournamentofroses.com/the-rose-parade/the-parade/parking
For before and after here's a listing from RV Park Reviews website for Pomona. It lists RV parks close to Pasadena area. http://www.rvparkreviews.com/regions/California/Pomona.html
Eastshore RV resort in San Dimas is probably the best choice for a full hook up park close to Pasadena. Here's the website http://www.eastshorervpark.com/
Here's a KOA also near eastshore RV resort http://koa.com/campgrounds/los-angeles/
We've stayed at both (not for Rose Parade)..... I prefer Eastshore. The KOA is very nice but we ended up with ants in the RV and it took a long time to get rid of them. We were staying in the park for 17days, so the ants ended up making a nest before we discovered they had gotten in.
A little further away but with a view of the Pacific ocean are two RV parks http://www.maliburv.com/ http://www.rvparkreviews.com/regions/California/Playa_del_Rey.html
The second one is basically a parking lot converted to an RV Park. It's nice but there are two drawbacks. It's very near LAX Airport and the planes take off overhead all day long. It's next to a waste processing plant so there can be smells from time to time. As long as the ocean breeze is blowing it's OK. You'll see by the reviews, most RVers are some what satisfied with the park.

If you already bought tickets then you must be confident your team is going to be there this year. You MUST be a Michigan fan, like me.

We decided on the KOA, in spite of the ants. It looked like the best place for us. We will be renting an RV and have our two young grandsons with us. I want the experience to be as easy and pleasant as possible. I don't want to stress my husband the driver.
We are not going to the game. We bought ticket for the grandstands to watch the parade. We have also reserved a RV parking space near the parade for the night before the parade. The price was outrageous, but it is a once in a lifetime event for me. My daughter and her husband are looking for a hotel in the area and will come over to the RV for a breakfast if possible. My son in laws older parents will be visiting from New Zealand and will also be at a Hotel.
