I'm so please to be the first to say CONGRATULATIONS!!!! It's a scary time and you never know until you've got that check in your hands that you've really sold your home. I'm so happy for you both.
Now, don't tell anyone but we've signed a contract on our home to close in early July. I'm almost afraid to say anything until the appraisal comes in. So, please don't say anything.

Melanie,
As you know, we will be living in one place and not traveling for a few years, so the choice of a mobile home park was just natural. Our lot rent is $190 a month ($170 if we mow our own yard) and that is with water and sewer. So, gas, electric and satellite TV will be all we have for utilities. We even got away from AT&T land lines by purchasing a unit at Verizon that our regular land-line phone plugs into and becomes a cell phone as well. Plus, with it we get more phone services (caller ID for one) for about half the price of our old AT&T phone bill.
Our site in the mobile home park is roughly 100 yards from I-44 running across the northern part of OKC, but with the Suite's extra insulaton, the traffic noise is not a problem. At night, we tend to turn on an oscillating fan to circulate the air and with that running, we don't hear the traffic at all.
The biggest issue with static full timing will be if we need "service" such as electrical, plumbing, etc. Even there, while at the RV park next door, I ran across a guy that does "mobile repair" and will come on-site. He deals primarily with electrical, plumbing and appliances. But, that may be the majority of problems anyway. Of course, it the repair is to be done under warranty, we will still utilize the dealership (Lewis RV), even though it will mean taking the Suites to their site.

Must be the week for it! Just yesterday we settled on the sale of our house. Our daughter has been living in it for over two years awaiting the sale of our condo. Condo did not sell so she will just keep it for now as investment property. WE ARE DEBT FREE! (once the money hits our checking account Monday and we send the check for the F350 King Ranch dually we bought 6 weeks ago.)
Hey, we will be in OKC again around the 2nd week of June. Will be back in Condo at the Lucky Star casino for a few days. Leave a private message here or on our blog. Maybe we can catch up. And CONGRATS! It really doesn't seem long since you started on this journey.
