I love reading through the posts on this forum and I finally decided to join in! My husband and I are in our early forties and our children are 17, 21, and 23. We have been dreaming of fulltiming for over two years now. Acatually it is more like obsessing than dreaming! We cant wait to get on the road! We are planning to be ready to go in around 18 months. Just waiting for our youngest to graduate next year and to be debt free. Our TT is almost paid for and we are currently giving it a complete makeover. We are working on some different ideas for making money on the road. That is our main focus right now because we are far from wealthy and will definitely need an income! We have already sold our house and are currently renting. Got rid of a lot of stuff when we moved, but still have way more than we need. We have talked to the kids and other close family about our plans, but I dont think they know how serious we are. Of course most of them think we are nuts to even consider it, especially our parents and siblings. My husband is in management and we live in a pretty small town so we have to be careful about talking too much, dont wanna lose that job before we are ready! I am so glad to have found this site. I cant believe how many people are in the planning stages like us. Its great to know we are not the only crazy ones out there and I cant wait to meet all of them on the road!!

Welcome to the forum! We are on just about the same timetable - hopefully! Although we won't sell our house until early 2013, so you are definitely ahead of us in that regard. :) Like you, I was SO surprised to find out how many people are in the planning stages for hitting the road. We thought we were doing something really unusual and then we discovered - not so much. :)

Let us also welcome you to the RV Dreams forums. You will find a lot of helpful folks here with a lot of knowledge and ideas. Jo and I are from Oklahoma, so we are practically neighbors.
Feel free to ask questions and make comments as we are all learning from each other.
