I'm probably just blind, but can't seem to find out where to add getting emailed when something happens in a thread or particular forum topic that you are subscribed to? I have checked the "email me" box for new post to a topic as well, and am subscribed to a topic, but haven't seen any emails as of yet?

Or if the system doesn't do it itself, is there a way with RSS or something?  Thanks! 

Hey Steve,

Whenever you create a new post, there should be a check box under the post you can click before hitting "Submit".  The check box is "Email me whenever there is a new post to this topic."

Also, you can "subscribe" to any individual "Topic" in which case you get notified of any posts in that topic/thread OR you can subscribe to a particular "Forum" in which case you get notified of every post in that subforum.

At the "Topic" level, just click on the "Subscribe" button.  That should create a new item in your profile called "Subscriptions" where you can "unsubscribe" if you wish.  The same goes for a "Forum" when you are at the Forum level - you can click the "Subscribe To Forum" button.

When you do a subscription, I'm not sure if you will get a Private Message or an Email notification, but if you set your profile settings to send you an email notification of private messages, that should make sure you get notified.

Thanks for the answers. I believe I have tried all of the above.  I can even see where I'm subscribed to 3 topics, and I do have the profile set to send me email on private message.  Still no emails however, and I've also checked my spam folder...so I'm at a loss.  I don't know if it's related, but I'm also the one who didn't get the original activation email either from the system, but did get your personal email telling me I was active.  Strange huh?   Thanks for your help solving this mystery!!  Steve
