We are looking for comments on a route from Heiskell, Tn to Danville, Ky.
We are considering taking I-75 North and then picking up US-150 around Mt.Vernon into Danville. Google-earth shows some parts of US-150 as primarily a two-lane road with no shoulder but I can’t determine much else about it.
Anyone travel this route and can comment on it or can recommend another way into Danville, Ky?
Thanks
Connie

Years ago we use to take exit 141 (TN 63) of of I-75 and go to Oneida. We would then take Rt 27 north to Stanford. I think that is where you get on US 150 to Danville. I don't think it is faster but I get tired of driving the Interstate. We were towing an Airstream at the time and there were no issues with the roads then.

Readytogo,
We've been across 150 many times, as we have family from Mt. Vernon to Stanford.
Hywy 150 is two lane and no shoulders in a few spots between Mt. Vernon and Brodhead from there to Carb Orchard is better.
Past Carb Orchard is new wide road along Cedar Creek Lake to Stanford where it begins four lanes to Danville.
There is a left curve when you first get in Brodhead, but not too tight.
We pulled our 30' TT through there several time for family reunions.
A bit of history. Hywy 150 is the the original path for the Wilderness Road of Daniel Boone's time.
