We will buy our RV as soon as our house sells. Looking for a class A or class C 30 feet to 36 feet. I've been following the inventory on http://www.pplmotorhomes.com/
This is a clearing house in Houston TX and seem to have a great inventory of used RV's and they have been in business for a long time.
Came across one today, a 2000 37 foot Fleetwood Bounder - milage 24,757 and cost $26,759. It has:
1 slide, V10 Triton engine, Generator, Power levelers, Ice maker, washer.dryer, B/U camera, satellite dish & receiver, 2 tv's, 2 vcr's oven. Pictures look real nice and PPL rates i's appearancet as" Very Good."
We of course would have any RV we buy inspected as well as the engine components inspected before purchasing.
Should one be concerned that perhaps this is the 2nd time around for the milage as posted and if not, should one be concerned at an RV just sitting around and not being used? If both inspections showed NO NEGATIVE findings, should one still be nervous? Seems somewhat of a cheap price.

I purchased an RV at PPL and kept it for 10 years. I was very happy with PPL. I was there recently to look for a new (used) one. Didn't find what I wanted but noticed that there were a lot of good deals there. My understanding is that they are in the business of selling RVs as fast as they can so they encourage their sellers to lower the prices periodically until the unit sells. So that's why their prices are so competitive.

Not being used is a problem. For two reasons: 1) Not being used means things break down due to lack of movement, lubrication and dust/insect nests getting hard. It can be amazing what breaks when not used. 2) Maintenance and replacement did not happen. When people don't use things they don't maintain them, so expect old oil and such. Tires and other parts would normally be replaced over time, but haven't been.

THANKS FOR THE REPLIES FOLKS - I APPRECIATE THEM. PPL DOES SEEM LIKE A GOOD ORGANIZATION. I AGREE WITH THE NOT USED THEORY AND THAT IS ONE THAT WORRIES ME. FROM WHAT I'VE READ HERE AND ELSEWHERE, IT'S HARD TO PUT AN "AVERAGE" MONTHLY/ANNUAL MILEAGE ON RV USE. HIGH MILAGE SCARES ME TOO HOWEVER IF PROPERLY MAINTAINED, A V10 HAS A LONG MILAGE LIFE. MAINTENANCE RECORDS AND SERVICE RECORDS IS ANOTHER ITEM IN ADDITION TO THE INSPECTIONS THAT WE WOULD INSIST ON - NO PROOF OF PROPER SERVICE, "NO SALE!"

I've dealt with PPL for RV parts and have received great service from them.
Part of the reason a Bounder price will be low is they were consider an entry level RV. They always looked great and in most case were built on the same chassis as higher end Fleetwood motorhomes. The differences were in the amenities and interior materials, these were less and lower quality.
