We have a 2006 F350 6.0L diesel.  While we had multiple problems with a new 2003, we have had no problems with this one since we bought it new in 2006.  Granted we only have 34000 miles on it, but this is almost all towing miles.  I have heard that by 2005, most of the problems were fixed, but still here of some people having problems with 2006 -2007 6.0L.  Just curious what kind of issues the 2006 - 2007 6.0L anyone have had and at what mileage did they start showing up?

We have a 2006 F250 with the 6.0. No problems with the engine. However, in Sept 2009 the engine oil cooler that sits on top of the engine split. It was found when we took truck in for service and replaced. Three months later on Thanksgiving weekend while 400 miles from home the new one split. This time Ford had a new radiator, hoses, engine installed. This 2nd engine is okay - just does not have the power the other one had nor do we get the mileage. Then this past November we were in Alabama. Saw smoke coming from exhaust. Lots of smoke. Took it right in. The thing split AGAIN. Our problems started showing up at around 55,000 miles. So three times in 15 months we were left without a truck while they were fixing the same problem. We only have 6,000 left on the warranty. Serioulsy looking at the 2011 6.7 Ford Engine models.

We had to get a new steering damper at about 60K, replace the exhaust gas something or other at 78, an injector at 88, front disc pads at 103 and new ball joints and shocks at 105K. The exhaust and injector were under warranty. We got 64K on the first set of tires and it's doing well on the second at 107. Needless to say we stuck with the original BF Goodrich brand. Our Cameo is over 17K and we have towed 45K in 5 years. BTW, today is our 5 year anniversary of full timing. 314 campgrounds and still moving. :)

We have 111,000 on our 2006 6.0L and have had no problems whatsoever. In 4 1/2 yrs, we have visited 48 states and 6 Canadian provinces.

We did have a 2007 f350 with the 6.0. I just replaced it last month because of repeated turbo problems. I drive it to work as a daily driver which I found out is a bad thing for the turbo design in this engine. The 6.0 uses a variable vane turbo that is powered from the engine oil pressure. If you drive light a lot the turbo will corrode on the machined surface were the vanes move. If you don't make it work hard the vanes don't move across the whole area to keep it clean. The 6.4 engine uses vacuum to move the vanes and does a full sweep each time you turn off the engine. The new 6.7 engine does the same type of thing to keep it clean. I was leary of getting the 6.7 until it had more time on the road.

I found the 2010 as a new left over at the end of January. It runs much better than the 2007 that had the 6.0.

had to replace both heads all the fuel injectors.we rerouted the exaust out of the engine 12 grand and it runs great 2004 6.0 F350  

We have a 06 f-350 with 6.0 and at 65000 no problems, and I would say 50000 is tow.

Love my 2006 6.0 .. I do the maintenance on it and clean the erg valve with every oil change. Change the filters and put on a different exhaust and put in a better turbo and it runs like a champ.

Part of it appears to be tied to how heavy you tow. Some folks on the HH Owners forum who towed big had issues with Injectors on the "newer" 6.0s.
