Is anyone using USAA for their banking ? We have received ads through our local American Legion. We use US Bank online services now, but are thinking about changing.

I've been a member of USAA since 1981. I've used a number of their resources, including their banking. I've compared among the large and local banks and USAA offers many great services for free, including scanning any checks into your account from home/rv without having to go to the bank to deposit them. I've switched most of my services to USAA and am completely satisified with their services and customer service.
Some of their services are open to the entire public, and some, like their insurance, are only open to military or former military or their direct household members, but they can explain that if you call them.
Good Luck!

I've used USAA for checking and credit card for many years and have never been disappointed. In fact, they recently contacted me when they saw several charges on my card that looked suspect. They were fraudulent charges and they removed them immediately and sent me a new card.

Been with them since 1978 when I began my Air Force career. Life, Homeowners, Auto insurance and now banking. Love the way I can use a scanner to deposit checks. They also cover ATM fees at other banks- up to a point. Nothing but great service from them.

We just signed up with USAA the other day. The three reps I dealt with on the phone were all friendly, competent and helpful. With checking and savins accounts now in place, we're going to review our insurance policies next, as soon as we locate them.(we're still moving in to our new rig and many items are adrift. I still can't find my camera)
It feels like USAA will be the perfect solution for when we hit the road.

I have been a USAA member since the early 70's. Do the math on that, I was still in high school. Auto insurance was all I had back then but I now have all of my investment, savings and life insurance accounts with them. This is about as good as it gets and the checking program appears to be excellent as well but we have used BOA for this task for so long and their locations are so wide spread that is just easy for us to maintain. Oh yeah,

been a usaa member since early 80's. We have everything with them including, life, car, insurance; home loan (THEY USE US BANK); home insurance and checking and savings. Would not be with anyone else. Great customer service and if anyone gets checks scanning them with the computer is great. They also reimburse for any atm charges up to a certain amount. Don't kow what it is off the top of my head. We don't have any USAA BANk in our area but don't find that a deteriment at all.

My Dad was Navy so I am eligible for USAA. I love them! Now you can even scan checks and other functions from your phone.

I've always preferred a local small bank, but switched to USAA a couple of years back when we started planning to do some full-timing (still not quite there yet though). I've got checking, credit card (discount for gas), and auto insurance. Outstanding customer service online and on the phone. Only down side thus far is they have really heavy security when you call in - give account or SSAN number, call from a phone in "your profile", date of birth, address, and then answer security questions. VERY irritating, so I just use the online contact stuff.
