We are looking for a toy hauler travel trailer . Does anyone have experience with them? We have looked at a few and haven't made a final decision yet.

Mike and Rose,
We owned a Keystone Raptor before the 5er that we are presently living in now. We had planned on full timing in the Raptor but decided to buy a reg 5th wheel instead. I think we would have been ok in the Raptor if we had gone fulltiming at the time of purchase but these dang JOB's are not allowing that for a few more years. Both the TH and present 5th wheel are about 40' with the same square footage.
The problem with the Raptor and most TH's that I have seen is room for two people while still working. The Hauler part of the TH was great because we put an extra frig and computer desk in it. Had plans on a regular washer and dryer to go in there but decided to trade before getting to that. We also had an extra cloths cabinet in the hauler which was nice for my stuff!! :) She filled the one in the bedroom up!!
The shower was in the bedroom on the TH along with a sink, ours now is separate which means we don't interfere with each other while getting ready for work on separate schedules. The TH had a queen bed we have a King in our 5er which is a plus for a big old boy like me.
Without the "hauler" part of a TH taking up room the living room and bedroom is much larger in the 5er. Only room for a 32" tv in the living room of TH and we have a 47" in our living room now. We have two built in electric fireplaces now which we love. One in the living room and one in the bedroom. I guess you can see what I am saying is the living area for two people living in one of these is much larger in the 5er rather than the TH 5er.
However.......... the Keystone was a great built trailer. I would not hesitate to live in it fulltime. In fact if we get back into riding a bike we might go back to the right TH with the right floor plan so we can haul a bike but it will be after we retire.
There is so much more I could compare but since this is getting long I will close. If you have anymore questions fire away.

Mike and Rose,
Oppppps , after posting a lonnnnnnng reply I noticed you asked about a Travel Trailer TH instead of a 5th wheel TH. Sorry. Sometimes I think old age is just a number and then I do something like this and I know it is REAL and about to overcome me quickly!!!

We currently have a small toy hauler for weekend camping. One drawback is lack of storage. But it is great for hauling our motorcycles. Since we only use it on weekends, we can deal with the storage issues. If we had a bigger TH, there would be more storage also.
