Norcold has issued a NEW recall for a large number of refrigerators made over many years up to and including 2010.
If you have already had this recall work done - your not done yet. This is yet another new recall.
If you have a 1200 “series” unit (like a 1201, 1210, etc.) yours is probably included, even if it is old or brand new. This recall concerns the possibility of a fire should certain conditions happen.I won’t try and present that explanation here. But basically it is a potential to overheat and start a fire should a break or leak happen in the coolant (ammonia) piping.
As I understand it, the recall addresses this issue by installing a sensor system to turn off the gas should this happen.
The above is a very over simplified explanation. It is not an official wording.
Here is the link to the official letter and listing of serial numbers.
I provide all this because people on the road don’t get snail mail right away and you may not have received any of this information via the net yet.
According to Norcold, and my local dealer, Norcold picks up all costs for this safety modification. You need to call ahead to a dealer and set a time so they can order the “kit” for your unit.My dealer said it would take a couple of hours once they had done a few and had the procedure down. I was the third call aready.
I recommend you go to the web sites above and get the information directly.
Safe travels

Thanks for the heads up Bill and Linda.
Looks like our fridge is on the recall list. Hope it doesn't blow up on us!

The fix should only take 30 to 45 minutes. Just had mine done on Thursday. I did pay a $55.00 service call to have it done at my site.
