Anyone out there currently using the Ariston Splendide front load, side by side (or stackable) units? Just looking for user comments on the performance and reliability, before we make the plunge($$$)! Or any other side by side favorites out there that will fit into the 54"W by 25"D by 39H cabinet?? We're still having fun "camping" in the driveway and slowly loading stuff into our new Cameo. Can't wait to get out on the road. Thanks all! Pat and Charlie.

We have the Splendie washer/dryer and it works very well. I am happy with it, it was a "must have" item for us when we were shopping for a new MH.
It does take small loads and will wrinkle the clothes sometimes if you put too much in it, but you can either choose to iron if too wrinkled, or remove slightly damp and hang to finish drying. Also, with sheets, you can do the wash cycle, stop and remove the sheets, fold them and put them back in to dry and they won't wrinkle too badly.
I love that I can throw a load in, go out for the day and come back to clean and dry clothes. I'm not too picky if my skivvies are a little wrinkled.

While I can't speak directly to the Splendide models, Jo and I have done some research on washers and dryers. I will provide a link to where I posted a request for information. I then later posted there that we had found some Whirlpool units for less money and purchased them.
At the moment, I can't recall the dimensions of the two units, but down toward the bottom of the thread at the link are two more links taking you to Whirlpool's website for each of the units. Now, having said that, I just tried those links but with my work browser, it requires a plug-in which I'm not authorized to download. So, I couldn't look to make sure all the information was there.
Check out the links and when I get home, I'll try to remember to measure the ones that we bought. The main point, though, is that the Whirlpools were cheaper than the Splendide.

We have the Splendide stack units and I wouldnt' be without them. Couple of things to watch out for...
Don't overload the washer, get more wrinkles that way even though the dryer capacity is more than the washer
Always use detergent marked HE (High Efficiency) and do NOT use the amount shown, that is for full-size washers. I am using maybe a shot glass full of Tide HE. Same for other additives like Clorox 2.
I use Shout Color Catchers a lot. After having two of them filter down into the filter area and stopping the machine, we got a fine lingerie back and always put them in that.
Watch out for change...it will also go to the filter area and stop the machine.
Lots of settings, try them all to figure out what works best for you and your clothers.
Be prepared to shake....LOL!

I don't have one but have an rv friend that does and she LOVES hers. We have older dp and have Kenmore pair. I also love mine...full size loads for me. To each their own......

Terry/Jo, thanks so much for your reply. I'm thinking we've found the model units ya'll are speaking of at a appliance warehouse. We'll be going there tomorrow pencil in hand to take notes primarily as to the 110/220 power requirements. That was the primary issue we had the last time we went there. Again thanks a lot. ck

Your routine sounds pretty much like the one I have with Maytag units in our sitx and brix, except for the shaking part (-: Here in Texas most houses are on cement slabs. I was thinking that the front loaders would shake less than the top, but maybe not. Thanks for posting. Pat and Charlie

We don't have a W/D in the RV yet. And no experience with the Splendide.
What I can share is that I switched to a front loading washer in our stix and brix a couple of years ago. It definitely shakes less than the top loader did. I'm not sure if it will transfer to the Splendide and RV.
Besides shaking less, we've found that the front loader is gentler on your clothes.

CKerr, I agree about the front loaders shaking less and being gentler on clothes. Also use less water. I much prefer them and have been using them in Sticks & bricks for years. Pinnacle washer and dryers have been suggested to us and we are currently looking to see what we can find out about them. Anyone using them?? Trying to check out all our options. Thanks for posting.
