Digiscrapping is my main hobby and perfect for the road since the only tools are my camera and my laptop.
Any other scrappers (digi or other) out there?

It's basically scrapbooking with all digital images. All your papers, elements, etc are digital images and you use software like Photoshop or PaintShop Pro to put layouts together on your computer. A great place to start learning about it is at www.digitalscrapbookplace.com. They have tutorials, free downloads, classes, contests and all sorts of fun stuff. Best of all, the owners are fulltimers! :) I just "met" them today over at Families on The Road.
Here's my latest digital page:

Sounds like fun! What do you do with your finished products?

They can be printed. There are a ton of places that print them into 8x8 or 12x12 finished pages, but I just store mine on CDs and flash drives and when the mood strikes the kids and I pop one in and enjoy them on ther computer or the TV.

I am also interested in looking into digital scrapbooking. I was just told about it recently by someone who sent me a slide for my powerpoint slides I was making for church. I create powerpoint slides most weeks, to run between services, that announce upcoming events, etc. She sent me a jpg she had done announcing an upcoming study and I thought it looked terrific. I have experience using photoshop, but that was many years ago. I couldn't possibly do something like that full-time now, but an occasional project would be a lot of fun as a hobby.
Looks like fun for sure!

It's super fun and not hard at all. There are a ton of resources out there on the web too and although lots of artist's sell digital kits, there are enough freebies available to keep you going for a good long while. Even the paid kits are great because they're not usually more thatn about $7-8 max and you can use them endlessly since they're digital files. Beats the pants off traditional scrapping for cost, space and time. You don't even need any super expensive software. I use an ancient version of PaintShop Pro (V8 I think) and it works just fine for me. I also digiscrap for others from time to time.

Earthmommy, I have done digital scrapbook for years and think it is the only way to go. Have two sons 21 & 24 and did all there scrapbooks this way. I haven't done any in awhile but now we are on the road I may just have to dust off my Adobe Photoshop Elements and get to work. One of my favorite spots to shop for elements etc. is http://www.scrapbook-bytes.com/. It is a great community of digital scrappers as well as a place to shop. The page you showed was beautiful.

I'm very intrigued by the idea of digital scrapbooking. Now that we're working on hitting the road fulltime, Digital Scrapbooking just makes SO much sense!
I've been wanting to start scrapbooks of our travels, but never seem to get to it. I kept looking for map pagges appropriate to our travels. If I'm understanding this concept correctly, I could just scan the map section I want to use, correct?
I do have a question... Are kits you purchase reusable? I would think so since they are digital images unlike paper kits, but thought I'd ask those who know!

Yes to both your questions. You could scan whatever map section you wanted to use. And Yes the Digi kits are reusable as many times as you like. I have a few faves that I've been using for about three years now, and they never get old. I just downloaded a great travel kit today: http://shop.scrapmatters.com/road-trip.html . I picked this one because I love the road and Class C elements, and there is a super cool map page too. There are also a ton of free resources on the web. Start at http://www.freedigitalscrapbooking.com. Have fun!

I printed all my pages at home. I had a large format printer so was able to print on 13 x17 paper. I positioned it so that I could use what was left for 6 x6 pages. I couldn't take that printer with me on the road so if I were to print now I would probably use My Publisher and do them in a book format.

Hmmm... Wonder if you could print them in book form through Snapfish.com. They have some pretty good deals...

I love Snapfish. I get all my prints through them. Never tried a book, but I would like to make printed copies for the kids.

I've done several Photo Books, and they turn out beautifully! They look really professional.
I've also done some Hallmark Smilebox presentations..... those are really fun and different.
I guess I've been doing some "digital scrapping" all along!
Can't wait to try some of these links...

Hi..
Digital scrapbooker here. I have done the paper version for years working at micheals craft store is dangerious.. Tole painting (yard art), quilting. Yes i Have done all of them of course had to have everything I could get my hot little hands on to complete and learn each craft..
Anywho, digital scrapbook is by far my favorite as far as keeping mess down. My favorite place to have hard covered books printed and prints period are Mpix.com they actually have a program you download make your book upload back to them and poof with in a week i Had my book. It was for my son's highschool wresting coach. It was so neat. Each student on the team had there own page accomplishments for the season. A jv team varsity team page an the last page was of one of the wrestlers pictures faded with a poem about being a wrestler. The back cover of the book was the school's mascott. There was a place for the whole team to sign the book. I was kind of worried what everyone kids and coach would think.. It was the biggest hit ever The kids love to see there pictures and what I wrote about each kid.. The coach keeps it on his coffee table at home and it brings up lots of conversation. I was at all the practices and matches..
So for the Rv going fulltime I want a hardcovered scrapbook of our travels people we meet there names etc of course ask if I print would they mind.. I dont know if i will combine states I think have a book for everystate will be space problem. But I will see.. My camera d80 with lenses are gone which gives me the go head to get a new updated camera trying to deside if i want to stick with nikon or filp over to canon that is another discussion all together..
Any other scrappers (digi or other) out there?
