This was a weekend for firsts: First trip in the new DP; First time camping with 8 (yes I said 8) in the RV. First time driving after dark.

I drove most of the time with the bright lights on and nobody noticed. That's because the lights appeared to be aimed way too low! And that leads me to my question:

Any direction as to how to adjust the headlights? I have fairly easy access to both light 'modules' via the generator access in the front. However the headlights appear to be mounted to brackets and I could not see any adjustment screws. No help in the owners manaul that I could find.

Your thoughts?

FYI...I did contact Monaco and wanted to share their response for anyone else in a simialr situation....

So guess what I'm doing this weekend!

By FMVSS standards, all headlights must be adjustable without removing them from the vehicle. Monoco coach and most other motor home manufacturers actually purchase their lights form automotive and truck manufacturers. Monoco actually tried to purchase lights from the company I work for and we had to direct them to the OEM Automotive Company we produce them for as the OEM officially owns the design. OK, with all that said, if it the lamps are the halogen bulb style, not old fashioned seal beams, they will have adjust gears on the back of the lamp. These gears will have a screwdriver slot next to them. A standard Phillips No.2 screwdriver can be inserted into this slot and turn the gears in the direction needed to move the reflector inside the lamp. One is for vertical adjustment and the other is for horizontal. You can watch the reflector inside to see which direction it is moving. Good Luck!

Thanks Rick. I also called the local Monaco Service center in central Florida and spoke with the tech that performed our 'walkthru' when we purchased the unit. He not only looked this up in their database but also checked with a 'fellow tech'. They agree that there should be adjustment screws, however their data and experience tell them that the mounts will need to be shimmed to adjust the lights. I'll know the answer before we start our trip next weekend. Thanks
