I would try looking at ebay or used dealer inventory to check prices. Many dealers and private owners are ready to deal. Many dealers will discount 2-3yr old units as much as 50%. You just have to look. The internet makes thing much easier and saves time of driving. Happy searching...

I have found the Internet version of NADA to be about 20% high in most cases.

Looked at a 2011 Montana 3480RL yesterday. Listed for $77K, dealer is asking for $52K. Makes me wonder why anyone would buy a 3-4 year old Montana for $49K
Is there really that much of a markup on new RVs?

You're right. If you can get a new one for $52, then it would be silly to pay $49 for a 4 year old one.
I suspect the the used one will sit for some time before the owner comes to his senses and sells it for $35-40.
