We received slide supports when we bought our Class A-but they didn't explain how to use them...help?

Everything I have read about slide supports says do not use them. Only bad things hapopen when the RV settles, you slide without removing, the wind blows, the wind doesn't blow, or anything does or does not happen. There have been many comments about slide supports, none of which recommend them.

Great question, it is one I have always wondered about. I would have thought they would be a good thing. Glad to hear others opinion.

Slide sag does exist. On mine the slide tubes have sagged such that they began scraping on the tube openings in the frame that they passed through. The openings were enlarged to compensate. Slide sag rarely occurs but it can....usually because of bad design, poor workmanship or overloading. Slide supports can work but I have resisted the urge to buy them......what if tires go flat?, the rv sinks in soft ground, etc Damage can occur.
