Ok, I ordered my bloody drive disconnect for my Tacoma today, then came back and pulled the first of the tube tbs out, the one in the dash. I now have this gaping hole where the tv was. I am thinking of mounting a gps/cell/etc charger with a slide out laptop stand there. My questions are:
1) I was told simply capping the wires (non 110) would disable the cutout for the 110 outlet for the tv. Is that correct, as the tech also told me he wouldn't admit telling me. I want to ensure it's cool before I cut and cap those wires.
2) the previous owner mounted a cb on the left side and seems to have had it wired in directly, because after the tv was removed, I found a CB band connector hanging free. So, question would be, is it a good idea to use the cb connection power for some 12v outlets or better to invert off the 110 outlet that's back there.
3) is there already an after market product or set or something for this and am I rebuilding the wheel here? I halfway expect I am.
Thanks for any insights you can provide.
* I also just asked this on NuRv and am hoping between the replies, I know how to proceed. Plan is to be on the road as soon as they finish my truck. I am beaucoup ready to be moving. Old Rom genes seem to be coming out after all these years off the road now. What is it I see called in the rv posts, hitch-itch? Kinda the same thing, je comprends, but we called it bein antsy to see over the next hill (which really confused me when I was 4 and we were in southern FL which has no real hills or curves, lol)
Thanks again for any advice, suggestions or insights
