We're in the process of shifting gears from stix and brix to full time rving. When we purchased the Fuzion a few years ago we got the impression that we could plug the ipod in somewhere and listen to it through the sound system. Uh... NOT.
Just looked at amazon and saw on my wish list an ipod adaptor for the home stereo. Now that we're shifting gears, I'm wondering what the alternative is for the rv? Is there something we can get that really does allow the ipod to play through the rv stereo system?

Carol (or Johnny),
Does your Fusion's stereo have an extra set of audio inputs? For instance, something labeled as "Aux" or "Aux Input"?
I'm not familiar with the output of an I-pod as to whether it would be compatible with a regular stereo. When I googled "I-pod to home stereo adapter", one of the things that came up was a "Y" cable with one end being a 3-conductor mini plug and the other ends being RCA plugs. See the link below:
Now, if your stereo does NOT have an extra input for another "component" then I don't know what you could do other than also replace your stereo.

Well, I don't know why the link isn't "active" so you could just click on it. I guess you'll have to "copy and paste" it into your browser's address field. Sorry.

Actually Carol tends to be the voice here, but we both listen.
Perhaps a bit of clarification will help. A few years ago we purchased and Onkyo stereo receiver for the house. There is an Onkyo Remote Interactive ipod Dock available for it. Basically it you set the ipod in it, it plugs into the auxillary input on the stereo and you can listen to all your ipod tunes through the stereo. The advantage of the set up we were looking at for the house is that we can also run the ipod with stereo remote control.
Our Fuzion stereo does have 1 auxillary input, but it is hardwired into the dvd player so you can hear it through the speakers. Not sure where the connection is. Appears to be very well hidden because we have searched for it and can't find it.
Can we put our home Onkyo stereo receiver in the MH when we get it? If so I know how to make it all work. If not, we're open to suggestions!
Thanks! Carol

If there is NOT an auxiliary input on the Fusion stereo, then I'm not sure what you could do without knowing more about the Fusion stereo.
If there is an auxiliary input where the DVD "out" cable goes into the Fusion stereo auxiliary input jacks, then you could possibly find an "A-B" switch. An "A-B" switch will allow the DVD to plug into one set of jacks and the docking station into another set of input jacks and have one set of "outputs" to run a cable from the "A-B" switch out to the Fusion stereo auxiliary input.
Then, you could switch back and forth between the DVD and the I-Pod docking station for that one stereo input.

Stereo systems in RV's work off 110 volts, so there should be no reason you can't switch out the receivers and install your Onkyo.

Thanks guys. I don't think there's a good answer for the Fuzion. But we'll keep the Onkyo in the "KEEP" pile for the future MH.
