I only know two guys with macerators, both are very happy with them. ONe guy, jebar on MyRVTalk.com uses one all the time, don't know the brand. 3. Nothing to the install, he just hooks up to the sewer drain and goes to pumping. 4. He has been on it for several years. 5. Don't know about a permanent install, I have only seen them used when the sewer fitting at the campground is higher than the trailer connection.

1. SaniCon. Yes. Came installed on the coach and has always worked.
2. I have nothing to compare it with so if I had to choose I would stay with the SaniCon.
3. No. But it would not be hard to self install.
4. The permanent install model just needs room in the water compartment and 12VDC.
5. In use since Dec 2007. The only problem I had was a plugged drain from the black tank. Wrong toilet paper. Hard to say if we would have had the problem if I was using the stinky slinky hose instead of the macerator.
6. Ours is permanent mounted. I believe a couple models of the SaniCon models have the gray bypass so you can leave your gray valve open and the liquid will drain via gravity. A great option if you plan to be parked in once location for an extended stay.

My hubby installed our Clean Dump Macerator on our 5th wheel 3 years ago. It has been very reliable. We would stay with the same system.....very reliable and easy to use. We also believe it has a sturdier hose and we like the shut off valve at the end of the hose. Yes, we installed the macerator ourselves. The electrical install was very straight forward....and included all necessary parts and wiring. We had the unit installed in a few hours. The bracket that they included allowed for a variety of install options. We have been using ours for 3 years.....no problems at all. Ours in permanently mounted.
