Do you put anything in between your dishes so they don't rattle when you are on the road?I thought I remember my Gramma doing this when we were little...

We use plastic, Melmac like dishes and haven 't had any problems with just stacking them. They don't seem to move or scratch.
We do use protection for our glassware, either foam in baskets, or socks for the larger glasses.

We use Corelle Livingwear. So far no problems. We have a 5th wheel now so don't notice any rattling while on the road. We'll see if we switch to a motorcoach.

To kill the noise use a paper towel, bubble wrap sheet or cheap paper plate in between the plates and bowls.
Or go to a moving supply store and get a dish pack kit. It has foam envelopes for each plate and bowl.
Like others, we use both melmac and corelle plus paper plates and we have a 5th wheel so we never hear any rattles.

We are in a MH so we know if anything is rattling. My husband was a helicopter pilot so he really doesn't like to hear rattles when we are traveling. I use coffee filters to put between glass objects but actually only have a few. Lots of Corelle and plastic.

Having flown helicopters as a military pilot, "rattles" are common place. It's only the strange ones that worry you.
Some hints for stopping rattles:
1- Wrap a water hose bungi cord around the plates. (a clean one) 2- Buy a rack for the wine glasses. 3- Make ample use of the plastic coated storage devices that are found at Home Depot or Lowes. Secure them to the cabinet shelves. 4- Line the pantry with some poly foam then cut holes in it for all shapes of can goods. 5- Use swim noodles cut to fit for packing against pots, pans, and empty food containers.

We use the rubbermaid rubber (?) rubber or what ever it is mad of shelf liner in the cupboards and coffee filters between glass dishes .. I also have glass stemware wrapped in Gale's pre-diabetes socks that are not in use any more ...used to use the same method bringing them back from Las Vegas in the suitcases and its worked just as well!
