I have a 2010 Ford F250 Super Cab 4x2 with the 5.4L EFI V-8 gas engine 5 speed automatic transmission and the 3.73 limited slip axle. The GVWR is 10,000 for my truck. I want to buy a Heartland Bighorn 2985RL. The GVWR for the Bighorn is 14,000. Is this to much for my truck? Is there anything I can add to my truck to make it safe to tow that much weight? Dry weight for the 2985RL is listed at 10,352.

Way too much for a gas engine with 3:73 gears. IMHO
The following information is based on Ford's brochure for the 2010 Superduty trucks.
With the Supercab, 3:73 rear end and 5.4L V8, the maximum towing weight is 10,000 lbs and the GCVW (Gross Combined Vehicle Weight) rating is 16000 lbs.
Even at the dry weight, the Bighorn is too heavy by 352 pounds on the towing weight. With the Bighorn at gross of 14,000 lbs, you would only be able to have the pickup weight 2000 lbs TOTAL to be right at the GCVW of the F250 of 16,000 lbs.
I doubt seriously that anything that you added to the F250 would allow you to SAFELY handle that much weight.

Thank you for the replies to my questions. I was afraid there was nothing I could do to safely tow the Bighorn with my truck. I will now look at RV's that weigh less and that I can tow SAFELY with my truck. Thanks again!!!

The GVWR is established by the Manufacture, regardless of what you "add" it will not change the GVWR of your truck. If your over weight without airbags your over weight with airbags.

David,
Lighter the load the better for safety and truck longevity.
