We just purchases a new travel trailer and they are recommending the paint protection that will also include the fabric/leather/vinyl protection as well as the 5 year extended warranty on top of the manufacturer 2 years. The extended warranty is money back if you don't use at the end of the 7 years. Can anyone give me some reasons to proceed with these or not??

Toyota does this same type thing for their cars and trucks. It's just a way to rip you off, IMHO. They put a coat of sealer/UV blocker on the body, along with some fabric protector on all the leather and fabric stuff, and then charge you $700 for it! You can buy the same stuff yourself for less than $40 and put it on yourself (or hire a high school kid to do it).
My advice is to save the money. The same thing goes for all extended 'warranties'. They are all ripoffs, IMHO.
BTW, they may not be around in 7 years to refund your extended warranty money, but, even if they do, they will have had the use of your money for 7 years at no cost to them.

I have the same opinion. None of those add on or extended warranties are worth it. I tried a few in years gone by and they aren't near as easy to deal with as they are when they sell it to you. My vote is a NO.

Take the money you would spend on an extended warranty and put it into a maintenance or emergency account.

There are no free lunches..... for all the reasons given above.
Dealer gets a kick back and that is all they are interested in.
You can get the same protection from a local car detailer for less money and a better quality job.
It seems the extended warranties require a lot of patience and tolerance of frustration to get the needed work (if covered) paid for.

Is not an extended warranty like gambling in Vegas…the odds are stacked in favor of the house?

there is a reason why it seems that everyone offers extended warranties on everything, they make money off of them! that should tell you enough....
