Next week we will be traveling South on Interstate 81 through Virginia to Rte 64 East which appears to cross over the Blue Ridge Mts. to Gordonsville, VA.
Anyone know of any issues for motorhomes along this route? Thanks!

We traveled I-81 from Harrisburg, PA to I-77 in NC. If you mean I-64, that too had no impedence for our 40' Itasca. State road 22/231 seems to be a good road for the short distance into Gordansville.
I-81 & I-64 are great roads and a beautiful drive.

I-81 goes right up the Shenandoah Valley so it shouldn't be a problem. On I-64E, there are a few good climbs but nothing that your MH shouldn't have a problem with.

We travel I81 often. Too often. Never a problem unless you count last Thanksgiving Sunday the most traveled day of the year when our truck broke down near Wytheville VA and had to be trailered back to NJ.
Oh you meant the roads themselves? East driving.

I meant EASY driving, not East. However, seeing as our last name is East, we could look at it that way too.

That's part of my old stomping grounds when I lived in VA. If you aren't in a hurry, Hwy 340 on the west side of the Blue Ridge and Hwy 522 on the east are nice drives.
I think VA is working on a new speed limit of 70 mph on interstates. It has been 65 up from the miserably slow 55 that they had until a few years ago.

My daughter lives less than 5 miles off of I-81 at Stuarts Draft near Staunton. The drive is beautiful but it is usually loaded heavy with truckers. Oh well, there's always a downside to everything worthwhile.
Hope you have a good trip.

We just left the Staunton area......after staying for a month. It was great. No problems on your travels thru Virginia. We have a 40ft 5th wheel.....it was great driving all the way. Enjoy your travels

If any of you have recommendations for campgrounds in Virginia, I'd love to hear them. And especially anything near kayakable flat waters.
Thanks Sherry
