Over our morning coffee today, we had an interesting question arise.  In the Eurovan, we can stretch the 12 gallons of water over 3-4 days if we are frugal.  This allows 1 gallon per day per person for drinking, coffee water, plus dog water, face washing and limited dish washing.   If we have to stretch the water for that long we don't cook pasta or rice which utilizes water. 

I thought perhaps 10 gallons a day in the 5er might be what we would use which would enable us to spend about a week to 10 days (depending on tank size).  Now there are lots of variables such as how often we will shower and if the bikes need to be rinsed off. 

When you have boondocked, what has been your daily water usage?  How long will your tank of fresh water last?

The two of us can get a week on 50 gallons easy enough a full 75 gallon tank will go 10 days without a lot of care as to how much water we're using.

Our fresh tank is 70 gallons and we can get by for a week with each of us having 2 navy showers and using paper plates some of the time.

Our TT has a 40 gallon tank and we can go 7 days with 5-6 people. Paper plates, bottled water, soft drinks, sandwiches, fruit, crackers, etc. & maybe 1-3 big meals that require water.
We also bring 10-15 gallon jugs of water for cooking etc. Conserving water is a way of life here in AZ.

I feel strongly about it and love learning more on this topic. If possible, as you gain expertise, would you mind updating your blog with more information?

As a solo in my Class C, I made 35 gallons go two weeks. I did carry drinking/cooking water and I recycled most of my gray water back into my black tank.

The two of us in our fiver with a 90 gallon tank can also go two weeks doing pretty much the same. Recycling the grey from kitchen and bathroom sinks, taking sink baths for every other naval shower.

Our fresh water tank is 100 gallons. We (2 of us) have gone 5 days on half of our fresh water. We both take navy showers every day and we aren't real frugal with our water usage.

Our fresh water tank is 105 gallons, our black tank is 35 gallons and our grey water is 65 gallons. We find the grey water is the one to get full first and that is after about 7 to 8 days of two navy showers and frugal dish washing. Our black tank lasts about 10 to 11 days. You can practice in a campground by filling your fresh water and disconnecting the hose with no sewer connection.

While likely not the answer anyone wants to hear, we carry 165 gallons of fresh water and that will last us 7 days if don't flush after every usage. I do not take military or tea cup showers. I don't find washing my face to be an acceptable form of sanitation in the morning. I have found that in every single case, when I am running low on water, filling with more water solves that issue. I am not a survivalist. I full-time and I like my shower in the morning. Sorry, so shoot me!

We can go 10 days on the 100 gallons, but carry 4 five gallon jugs in the RAM and always get water if we are in town. We carry a inch bore tool that allows us to drip our grey water (never the black) two feet into the dessert floor.

we can go a little more than a week on 100 gallons. That is taking a real shower every 2 days. But a Navy shower.

We don't worry about water usage. We have a 45 gallon bladder that makes refills easy.
