Browsing through the internet I ran into this article from Yahoo about what people are cutting back on in times of a weak economy. In reading it, I thought not only has all this stuff made sense to me in the past, it's actually what many of you RV'ers have been doing for years and why I have become interested in FT RV'ing as well! Could this be the beginning of a boom in the RV business as people realize they can downsize and still lead a perfect and probably more fulfilling life?! http://finance.yahoo.com/news/21-Things-Were-Learning-to-usnews-3382196417.html?x=0&.v=1

Good article, thanks. The similarities are amazing, eh?
And the RV lifestyle is self limiting by it's nature. You don't need a lot of things, and there's no ROOM for it.
Let's not get too promotional though, we don't want jammed campgrounds that we can't get into.

Fred said it all...we need to keep this low key as long as we can. If the government finds out that we are out here they will start taxing us. This is the greenest life you can live! Remember we don't want the campgrounds overloaded...

Too late Speedy! We're on a publicly available website that can be accessed from anywhere, by anyone, including uncle sammy. Heck, I found you all! Maybe I'm just a gov't mole gleaning as much information as I can so I can report back to my bosses at the IRS to figure out a way to tax modern nomads to discourage the practice of dropping out of the mainstream and thus decreasing tax revenue!
(I'm kidding, I'm kidding)
Seriously, it's a great article and I'm glad people are waking up from the "sham" that is consumerism, payments over ownership, etc, etc....
I don't think we have all that much to worry about though. While this lifestyle certainly lives by these principles, I still find most peoples reaction to this lifestyle is one of bewilderment over not having a "home" to return to.
