Of course, there IS no perfect floor plan, but we saw three of them today.  At least they were perfect until we saw a better one.  Geeze.

Last weekend we hit a large RV dealer and really liked the Timberlodge w/ the fake fireplace.  Today we liked the UltraLite 25FKS-DS.  The bed and dining area are both in a slide-out.  Then we liked the Four Winds DSL 26L-DSL with recliner/rocker chairs in the back.  Then we really liked the Surveyor sv-251 - 'perfect' I wrote.

I'm sure it will change again soon...

LOL! Boy can I appreciate this! Tina and I looked for just over a year, visit numerous dealers, going to several RV shows and researching LOTS of RV's over the internet.

In the end...

It needed to *feel* comfortable (which is different for everone)

We wanted a "living room". That is, a couch and 2 chairs with a view, a decent TV and sound system.

We wanted dining for at least 6. Yes, 6 and without modifications. (adding a folding chair to the open end of the table was acceptable)

We wanted counter space to cook for 6. A flip up extension is acceptable.

We wanted a separate bathroom (shower/toilet/vanity) that two could EASILY be in at the same time (preference was for a large double vanity and separate a MUST for privacy to the bedroom)

We wanted a bedroom with a king bed (walk around) with night stand/shelf (for book, glasses, drink) and a dresser and closet.

We wanted to be able to easily pull with our F350 SuperCab 4x4 DRW diesel.

Now that REAL catch. It needed to be new and under $28k, out the door.

Well, we found it. We bought it this past Satruday and we broke it in this weekend. :)


For us, it was a 2010 Keystone Sprinter 318FLS.

I've admired the RV's, especially 5th wheels with the walk way to the front bedroom area along the curbside wall. It seems to lend more area for the bathroom and gives the whole rig the feel of a bigger living space due to the extra windows placed in the wall along the walk way. Our rear kitchen seems to have more area than a mid-kitchen would. The size of the kitchen is important to my wife since she is a gourmet cook. Our living room area is comfortable, we can sit 7 to 9 to watch TV without squeezing everyone too much. We've had dinner for 11 inside once when the weather turned nasty during a BBQ. So I would design a 5th wheel with rear kitchen/dining area, mid-living room, curbside walkway to the front bathroom/bedroom.
