We're out in our TT in the East Texas Pineywoods, half-way into our vacation.
Wonderful progress on DH's part! He actually enjoyed looking at 5ers the other day, mentioned a couple of times during this trip that he could live this lifestyle, I've caught him looking at a 5er brochure, even said we ought to get one fairly soon before prices go up, and we should really start concentrating on downsizing so we'll be ready when the time comes! Whoohoo!
Hmmm...taking him to a place like this where the cycling is exceptional has probably been a good thing, eh? Teehee!
I've been working on my idea of teaching Reiki online via video conferencing. A couple of my former students think it is a neat and interesting idea...so far I haven't found anyone else doing it via video conferencing. Online, combined with any classes/sessions I could do in person in different locations...well....sweet. Doing my thing. Plus both of us workamping. Who knows...Dave might pick up work in a bike shop or even on his own. That's his thing. We think it might be doable. Who knows, maybe I could even teach a drum class here and there, too.
There's less fear and more "This might be a good lifestyle and an adventure to pursue." At least we're willing to give it a good try!
So I've been researching extended warranties, mechanical breakdown policies, insurance, etc.
The thing that gets me a little is the warranty issue with 5ers not intended for full-timing but folks are using them that way. Guess get additional coverage targeted for full-timing? Anyhoo, I obviously am on vacation 'cause I'm all over the Internet researching, reading about insulation R ratings, slide-out mechanisms, oh goodness!
Such fun!

Our Carriage is a full time rig and states that in the paperwork we have. Also they have an extended total 7 year warrenty on this rig. Might ought to look into the Carriage Products before you buy.

Another fulltiming rig is Heartland RVs (Landmark and Big Horn). They are better built than the Montana and Cedar Creek (which we have) and in the same price range. Good luck in your endeavor and continue doing your homework.

Excel also make unites that are built with fulltimers in mind. Also, New Horizon builds for fulltimers. Good research will give you good results.

Thanks to all for your responses.
As a follow-up, on our last day in Rusk, we ended up at a dealer in nearby Nacogdoches and purchased a Montana! We are awaiting word from the dealer that it is ready for delivery, which should be this month.
I liked what I saw of the Hitchikers, but a Montana was originally our first choice. We found one in Nac that fit our weight capabilities and budget and is a floorplan we both quite like.
Again, thanks for the responses. Gotta love this group of folks! I hope one day to have the experience under my belt to give back to others starting out.
