So as I read many entries, there are many of you that have bought a 5'ver long before you fulltimed. That said, what is the average life of a 5ver and does anyone plan on having to buy another one while on the road. We are looking at replacing our TT becuase we figure if we have to get one payed off before we get on the road we might as well be paying for the one that we are going to be living in. We can't afford a new one and will be looking for used ones. I just want to make sure we don't buy to old. Anyway we are going to start to look for one because who know when you will come across a great deal or find one with the it factor!!

This Question is hard to answer, the main factors involved in determining the longevity of an RV would be quality, as in manufacturer, and maintenance. Bottom line IMO, if you take the time, do the research, and purchase a quality unit----follow that up with a strict maintenance schedule, i see no reason not to purchase early if a good deal presents itself, i am. It will pretty much last as long as you want it to. All the components can be replaced. I think you could bank on 12-15 years but even then you could keep it going.
