Thinking of buying a new fifth wheel. Our budget is small and so far we are considering a cougar or a kingston. Does anyone out there know anything about these two fifth wheels?

Don't know much about this manufacturer/make/model. I am a Sunnybrook guy.
I would google and blog the rv's that interest you....there is a wealth of info on the internet. JMHO

Not familiar with Kingston. We researched and researched and finally decided on a 'Cougar' by Keystone. Critical to us was, among other things, size (we didn't want to go over 30-33'), weight, layout, and reputation. We felt comfortable going with Keystone. We ordered ours....at a significantly better price than local dealers here were asking....from Lakshore RV in the state of Michigan. We did it all online, by phone, email, etc. and it was delivered to us here in Ferndale, WA. So far so good.....we are just beginning to take her out and get use to her.

A friend has the Cougar and loves it, but other than that I can't help you. As for the Kingston...never heard of it, sorry!
Like mentioned, I'd do a google search and see what comes up. Good Luck!

We looked at both companies and both sets of units. At the time Cougar's didn't really have a bedroom slide which was a must have for us.
The thing that stood out to me with the Kingston was the storage. From what I remember of the Cougar it didn't have the same amount of storage in it that the Kingston has.
For the price we had the Kingston and the Challenger as the two best rigs for a lower price point. We did though end up going a bit higher end as we were able to get an end of year close out deal.

I don't have my rig yet, but I've been shopping in the same waters as my budget is smaller as well.
All I can say is that the Keystone "Cougar" and Forest River "Wildcat" are the only one's I'm really considering right now. For the price either one of these is hard to beat IMO. For me the Wildcat has the edge, because their new for 2010 31 TS floor-plan really works for me.
I looked at a bunch of Cougars yesterday and I was equally impressed and they are very comparable to the Wildcat's
