The more research I do, the more I'm leaning towards a smallish class C and keeping my existing, much beloved Pontiac Vibe. I just can't face trading it in for a pickup. :P I love it and it's my baby and it's paid off and still newish...
Is this a realistic thing to think about, or should I be looking at Class As? It's just me and the critters.

Dogstar,
You need to decide if you want to flat tow (all four wheels on the ground) or dolly tow. I am not sure if the Vibe can be flat towed. You might go to the www.escapees.com and then their forum and do a "search" of toads. Also, there is a thread on www.irv2.com that list cars/trucks that can be flat towed. You could also google 2009 toad guide for rving. There is a site that list the cars/trucks that can be towed but I can't think of it at this moment. One of the two options I listed will probably lead you to the information you need.
I hope this helps. I will be looking myself and if I find it I will post again.

Motorhome magazine publishes a (what seems to be) pretty comprehensive dinghy guide. Go to http://www.motorhomemagazine.com/ and the download for the guide is about 1/2 way down the page on the right side. This guide also discusses all of the factors to consider when towing, which I found very helpful.
We also have a small class C (24') - we don't have a toad for it yet, but are leaning towards the Toyota Matrix, which I believe is very similar to the Vibe.
Good luck!

Thanks y'all!
And yes, the Toyota Matrix and the Vibe are basically idenitical, just fit and finish differences- there's even a toyota engine in the Vibe. I *love* mine- I've put 40,000 miles on it in the past year! :P
