October 15, 2009 the RV Park Im in here in North Dakota is going to shut the water off. Will still have facilities at the office. But as a traveling working Union Electrician im going to have to make some decisions coming up.... real soon......... OMG!!

Most RVs can run off their internal water tanks for at least a few days and often a week or more. You just move it to the office, fill the tank, and then move back. Why is this such a crisis?

Ive been here four months no one ever mentioned shutting the water off. I just learned the news. Had no idea they would do this. Just something I was not counting on. Im new to the Rv living and being from Florida I never seen it coming.

Same thing happens at our park here in Ontario. They close the park October 15th so we'll be moving on to southwestern Ontario where the park closes October 31st, hopefully by then we'll be headed south!

Get a 55 gal. plastic drum with a tight fitting lid bleach it out, also get a 12v stainless steel pump (harbor freight, $34.95), pump the bleach water out of the drum thru the pump.  Then drive the drum up to the office fill it up, drive back to your rig clip the pump to your battery pump from the drum into your holding tank. 50 gallons of clean water.  Keep the drum stored in a clean site with the pump inside and the lid on tightly and you won't have to bleach it every time.

You now have a couple weeks to see how many days your water will last if you fill your water tank, disconnect the hose, and turn on your water pump. Then you can figure out how much of a hassle the whole thing will be, but will know your limits. If moving the RV is too difficult you can do what flyone says, or find a camping store (like Camping World) and buy a water bladder to transport the water to your RV. When it gets cold you can't have your water or sewer hose outside anyway because they will freeze or get brittle and break. Someone from Florida is going to find October in North Dakota cold. Just wait until December. You are about to learn a whole new set of survival skills.

Happens here in NE too.  We were living FT in our rig and had to move to a stick and brick apt for the winter.  The whole park shut down!  You are in for some nice cold weather there.  Get your electic blanket out, you will need it.  Winterize your rig too.  Heat tape on the water lines and keep a drip going on your water facet.  Your black tank, if you don't have heated underbelly you may need to put anti-freeze in your tanks to keep it from becoming a frozen puddle.
