Well I should have used a checklist before pulling away from our spot in Chula Vista RV Park.
Unfortunately, I was in a hurry because we were past check out time and the new folks were waiting. So I failed to do my, "Check to make sure all storage doors are locked" walk around. I got the side with most of the doors but missed the other side with the big compartment.
About half way home, I looked back in the mirror and saw our big storage compartment door just flapping away in the breeze. It was if the door was saying " Hey look at what you forgot"....
Luckily everything was packed in so tight nothing fell out, but it would have been just a matter of time before we would have lost our Flag Pole mount. It would have done some major damage if it had hit a car as it slid along the freeway.
So in the 30 years or so of towing an RV, I've forgotten to lock doors twice. Once it was the entrance door and it popped open and almost took out a bicyclist. And now the storage compartment door.
Learn from my mistakes....
P.S. - What's ironic about this is, the folks next to us were using a checklist and they were able to leave before we did. They made it out before checkout time. I bet their door didn't pop open.

Last winter while in Florida we flagged down a MH with its side door open also. He stopped and caught it. So you see your not alone! southwestjudy

Happens to the best of us.
We had to stop at the Hoover Dam to have are RV briefly searched. I forgot to latch the door that has the propane tank and as we were driving across someone pointed it out to us...in front of what seemed like hundreds of other people.

Well you could have done like I did and forgot to undo the electric cord from my MH. It must have looked like a big bullwhip going down the highway...fortunately I caught it before it got ripped off the side of the coach!
We all have had our moments
