For all the do-it-yourself'ers out there. I'm looking at a generator 10kw....it's a "POWER MAXX" it touts a noise level of 69Db....but does not say at what distance.
Any ideas on what materials I can use to reduce the noise level to <60db so I can take this monster ANYWHERE?
I'm looking at mounting steel or aluminum diamond plates to the frame or have a fanned and vented box made to muffle the sound......Anybody here been successful in this venture?

To get you started here are a great few articles that should help answer some of your questions as well as give you some more insight into generators themselves ...
These few articles should give you a better understanding of generators overall ,, Hope this helps in your search

Kevin,
Just out of curiosity, have you ever actually seen one of these generators? When I used "Power Maxx" as a search phrase, I ended up with a "Power Max" website which has residential and business sized generators. Some of those would be almost as big as half of your fifth wheel, especially considering a 10,000 watt generator.
Do you happen to have a website link where those of us wishing to help could get a better idea of the size, shape, and configurations of the generator you have in mind?

Sound deadening insulation attached to the inside of the generator box will help.
Here's a ceramic coating that can be painted on. It cuts the sound and vibration by up to 80% depending on how thick you apply it.
