New to the forum and what I found so far is great with much important information. This posting is in regard to finding an RV Park in or nearby San Antonio.I've heard that traffic in SA is very congested and I'd like if possible a park such as perhaps be able to use public transportation, walk or somehow avoid driving.......is it possible? Many thanks for any information you might be able to suply,wideblue.....

We stayed at a Travelers World which is just outside of the city. I recall seeing buses go by, but I can't say for sure if there was a bus stop nearby (I assume there is). Travelers World was more than I normally like to pay, but if you have Passport America then the 1st night is half off. They had a swimming pool, hot tub, and clean bathrooms. The following is the link via Passport America: http://www.passport-america.com/campgrounds/united_states/texas/san_antonio/travelers_world_rv_resort/

P.S. Be sure to spend some time down at the Riverwalk while you're there.

We stayed at the Admiralty a few years ago. It was Passport America at the time but I think it has dropped P.A. They sold a bus pass that was good for round trip to town and for the trollys in town. It worked pretty good for us.

We were is San Antonio in February and stayed at Traveler's World RV Resort. It's a very nice park only 20 minutes from downtown by bus and the stop is right outside the campground. Buses run frequently and till midnight, we felt very safe. Large gravel sites with cement patios. Nice pool and small hot tub. Quiet, but not cheap at $32. We figured the proximity to town and not having to drive and pay for parking justified it. San Antonio is a very nice place with a lot to do, Riverwalk, Alamo, Missions, etc.
Enjoy

Alamo Fiesta RV Park in Boerne (Bernie) is a little West of San Antonio (about 20 minutes), but still quite convenient to it. And Boerne is a lovely town, close to Kerrville and Fredericksburg, etc.
