We are considering purchasing a 2007 Cameo 35KS3 and have some concerns. If any one out there has one of these your input would be greatly appreciated. Our 1st. concern is will my GMC 2500 HD Diesel with Allison Tranny pull this? We are getting mixed messages from dealers and would really like to hear from someone who has this combination. 2nd. Does the Arizona roof sweat and or leak? Would the RV be considerably cooler in the cool months and hotter in the warm ones? By what degree? We do realize there will be a slight difference but how much and is it justified by the layout appeal? Any other input on Cameo (This model in particular) would be great. Thanks

The ONLY way to determine if your truck will pull the Cameo is to know the weights of both. For the RV, since you do not own it, ASSUME that you will load it to it's GVWR. Now, take your truck to a scale, full of fuel and whatever else you carry with you, and weigh it. The combination should not be over the GCWR of the truck.
But that is not all of the story. You also need to see if the pin weight will overload the rear axle on the truck. From your truck scale ticket you should have the weight on the rear. Add the estimated weight of the 5er pin and see if it is over the allowed rear axle weights. They are on the door jamb of the truck. The manufacturer generally publishes a pin weight for the 5er, but if you can not find one just use 20% of the GVWR.
The issue is not if the truck will PULL the trailer. The issue is will it stop it and allow safe emergency maneuvers. If forced to guess, and it would strictly be a guess, I would say you will be overloaded. But the only way to be sure is to add up the numbers...

We have a 35KS3, but no Arizona room. GVWR is 16,250# on our 2006, but I've read they downgraded it in 07 to 14,999# to comply with a California law, but the specs on the trailer are the same as 06.
The last time we weighed the rig the trailer was 16,180#. Hitch weight was 3,160#. The GCWR with our 8,800# truck was 24,920#. I've never heard of a 250 that was rated for that kind of weight. Our F350 diesel dually with the 4:30 rear end is rated 26,000# GCWR.
If you're going to get the Arizona room make sure you get dual pane windows and ceiling shades. We have some friends that love the AZ room and some that are sorry they got it. For additional information join the Carriage Yahoo group, there are over 1400 members and I'm sure you can get direct opinions.
Concerning Carriage and the 35KS3, we've been living in ours over 3 years now and wouldn't trade it for anything.
Good luck
