Hello! Does anyone have any opinions about various Emergency Roadside Assistance Plans? I know of two AAA and Good Sam ERS....Good, Bad, Indifferent I would love to hear everyone's $0.02.

You'll get a lot of thoughts on this. Search this forum for lots of previous discussion. Make sure your ERS is RV specific, towing RVs is not as simple as towing a car. Look at Coach-Net. If Spartan chassis uses them for their warranty towing I feel good I can too.

I use Good Sam....but then I have never had to use them. I have not heard any horror stories about them but maybe this string will bring them out. Speedy

As has been pointed out, this subject has been discussed a number of times and I think both of the major carriers got high marks. We've had to use Good Sam ERS twice now and couldn't have been happier with the service.

We acutally have ERS for our rig through our car insurance carrier, State Farm of Oregon.  It was much less expensive than any other insurance, and offers the same coverage.  Might want to check with the insurance comapny you currently use, see if that's an option for you.

We have been very happy with Coach-net. Been towed twice, once just to get us out of mud, and each time they sent a very big tow truck and everything was handled very professionally. Once we needed them to bring a locksmith and that took a bit longer, but was also handled well.

We have and have used Good Sam ERS in Alaska and didn't go through the proper channels because of no phones other than satellite and they covered the whole bill $990.00. You can check out the whole ordeal on our blog. Gummy

I will try my Insurance carrier and see if they offer anything.
I've had AAA before and they were of no assistance to me when I broke down out of state one time. I'm trying to avoid paying $80-$100 per year for no-show service again.
