While here in Florida tonite we watched the Discovery go up right in back of our RV. What a thrill. Posting some picts in our journal. I guess that is a plus for us RVer's to be where we want to be at times. southwestjudy

We watched it as well, we are in the middle of FL. and when it was not hidden by the clouds it was a wonderful sight. At the resort where we are well over 200 people watched it. Back in Nov. we drove over to Titusville and watched the lift off from across the causeway, and that was a great lift off.

One of the things on my bucket list is to see a launch...and a landing. Glad ya'all were able to see it...must have been exciting!

I would love to see that too. I did witness the shuttle re-entry when it exploded over Texas. I did not know at the time what I was seeing but when I heard... it answered some of the questions I had. I could not figure out what all the contrails coming off the shuttle were? Of course later I understood what I had witnessed...That was a sad moment in our lives.

We saw it too - but from the Lake Okeechobee area. We had just visited NASA the week before and saw a rocket launch. We saw your blog notes and concur that it's a great place to visit.
Can't imagine the thrill of watching the shuttle from so close! The sound of those powerful rockets must truly be amazing! We'll pray for the scientists and astronauts to have a safe return.
