I have the Dometic in my 2004 Hitchhiker II, and I notice that once in a while there is "sweating" in that small space between the fridge & freezer. I checked the gaskets and sure enough, the bottom gasket on the freezer seems to be slipping a bit. Is there a way to fix this gasket back in place, or do I need to have the entire thing replaced? Thanks.

Gypsy, I don't know what may work if anything but I would try some kind of silicone sealant. Buy a small (outdoors) tube use your wetted finger or the concave side of a plastic spoon and give it a go. Try and use as little as possible, I did it once with a dishwasher gasket and it held in place for about 2 years. I would never have guessed it would hold up that long, you got nothing to lose.

I took another closer and more thorough look, and the gasket is pulling away all the way around. Same thing for the main part of the fridge. Looks like I will have to take it in for replacement.

Did it start sticking real bad before it came loose? I had a simular problem with one of ours and the Tech told me to be sure and clean the gaskets every so often so they would not stick. You might want to check that after you get your new one.

Now that you mention it, Speedy, the freezer door is sometimes hard to open. What did the tech tell you to clean the gaskets with? I've heard of lubricating them with vaseline so they don't dry out.

He just said to clean it with Dove dishwashing soap. Keep it clean so that it wont stick to the sealing surface. We don't put anything on it at all.
