Linda, would you be willing to share what kind of a beading loom that you use?  I am so inspired by reading about your beading that I would like to try it, but whenever I look on the internet there are so many looms that I just don't know where to start!

If you feel this is counter productive to your sales of beading items, I will understand if you don't want to share!

Patty, I can't answer for Linda, but I don't think she uses a loom. I believe most of her beading is "off loom" work. You might send her a "private email". I know she is willing to share everything she knows about beading, she teaches at many of the places they stay. She tried to get me to jump into beading when we stayed next to them in Benson. I now wish I would have taken here up on that offer. I made the decision to try some beading myself and I will admit it is all a little overwhelming. I bought a couple of beading mags and they have been of great help to me. They are Bead and Button and Beadwork. Both have basic instruction for "off loom" bead work and also give resources for the web. WOW!  Thanks for the great response!  Well, I'm excited that you can bead such beautiful things - as Linda does - without a loom!  I was wracking my brain trying to decide which loom to buy, and now I don't even have to think about that!  I will look into getting the magazines that you suggested!  Can I pick them up at Michael's or where did you get them?  I'm sure that I will find it overwhelming also!  I do crochet and knit, so I'm used to doing things with my hands . . . maybe that will help!

OH!  That's too bad that you didn't let Linda help you learn!  That would have been such a great opportunity!  Well, if you run into her again you'll have to make sure and sit in on her lessons!

Thanks so much for responding too, and letting me know that you really DON'T use a loom!  I didn't even know that you could do such beautiful work without a loom!  Thanks goodness I didn't invest in one first!  That is so generous and kindhearted of you to share all your knowledge with others!  Your work is simply beautiful!

Yes Patty, you can find those mags at Michaels.  They are also available at most bookstores and I have even found them at wal mart and some grocerys.  Also, the internet is a great resource.  Check out http://www.beadandbutton.com for some great info and how tos.  The have free patterns and how to pdfs you can download.

Linda is right it is addicting.  I had really promised myself not to take on another "craft".  You see, I paint and I sew and we full time.  The thought of having more "supplies" is a little scary, but after seeing and being around all these great beaders I just can't help myself......much to my DH's dismay!

Thanks so much for letting me know where I can get the magazines, and the great link!  I will go out later this week and check them out.  I looked at some books yesterday, and OH MY GOODNESS, now I know what you mean about it being challenging to off loom bead!

Yes, I looked at your website, and you are a WONDERFUL painter!!!  How great that must be to express yourself that way!

I thought that beading would be good to take along when DH and I travel.  We don't fulltime, but we are hoping to spend more time on the road as DH wants to be able to work from our RV.  We are retirement age, but DH loves his job and isn't ready to give it up yet!  I am SO inspired by the BEAUTIFUL work that Linda does!!!
