we are thinking of getting rid of all the carpet in our mh. is it expensive? we were thinking linoleum just because ceramic tiles would be really heavy. has anyone been concerned that pergo type wood floor would just be too much wood? our carpet is only 3 years old and we vacuum and use carpet shampooers but it never seems to look clean. any thoughts or advice would be appreciated

Lots of folks have replaced their carpet with various other floor coverings.
Linoleum works well and is probably the least expensive solution.
Tile can been used as long as you don't mind giving up some cargo carrying capacity due to the extra weight of the ceramic or stone tile.
I'm not sure Pergo would be any heavier than the carpet and padding.
I actually went from linoleum to carpet in one of our RV's because the floor was just too cold and for the sound dampening the carpet added.
There have been posts in this forum and other RV forums regarding this issue.
Try doing a Google search and see what comes up. Try....... rv replace carpet ....for your search, lots of listings come up.

You might want to look into carpet squares. Selected squares can be easily replaced due to wear, excessive dirt or stains.

They also now sell vinyl tiles that look like ceramic that you grout just as you do regular ceramic. We did this in our bathroom and it looks fantastic and we used an epoxy grout that is flexible so it won't crack with traveling. Word of warning this grout sets up really fast so you have to work really fast!
