Our thermostat seems to have a mind of it's own. We will set it at a certain temp. and the thing changes to 72, faithfully, on it's own! Has anyone had a problem with theirs? If so, what did you do to fix the darn thing. I mean it is cold outside but 72 is a little warm for us!

If it is a programable one make sure the temp you want is in the HOLD mode. If it's not a programable one all you can do is replace it.

If there is a battery in the tsat it might need changing. It sounds like the tsat is "defaulting" to 72 either from a dead internal battery or if no internal battery (draws power from the house circuit) then there seems to be an internal malfunction causing it to go to its default temp. That would be my guess.

Thank you! I will pass this on to the hubby. It's just really aggravating.

Our thermostat was placed right next to the shelf for the TV in our living area. It took me a couple of trips in colder weather to finally figure out why the heater wouldn't come on unless I turned the thermostat way up past 90.
The heat from the TV was giving it a false reading.
