While at the Tampa RV Show today we saw a beautiful 6 slided fiver by Gulf stream a Prairie Schooner. It just came out for this year and its the 39 FRE. The webpage for it I understand is not up yet. My question has anyone saw it yet?? We LOVED the show and went the 2 days. southwestjudy

How many more slides can they have? I have seen 5 and thought that was alot. I wonder how much the trailer weighs? We have 3 slides and think that is enough. I am sure it opens it alot.

We will be going to the Houston Show. I sure hope they have one at that show. I would love to see it.

Some one on RV.net found a pix of it on the internet however; its not the best pix as the sides of it are curved inside. Anyway called the Flagship RV dealer and it is now there so will ck it out again. The quality does not seem to be there comparied to our Elite Suites. southwestjudy

Delaine and me did see the PS with the 6 slides and it did have more room. However compaired to our Mobile Suites, I still like the 3 slides we have had 4 slides and the more slides the more problems you can have. It look like Drv is bringing on more floor plans and making them longer? GBY....

We went to the dealers today and decided that our Elite Suites is a much better 5er than the Prairie Schooner. The 6 slides sure opened up the LR and BR but IMO the frame needs to be stronger and it's needs heavier axles and tires to get the cargo capacity increased. After we got past the glitz we realized it wasn't for us. We are not exactly looking and are very happy with our Elite Suites but you never know what's out there until you look. Now we know what a six slide fiver looks like.

What kind of truck do you need to tow one of those babies? I am happy with our 1 slide for now (although I wouldn't mind a little extra room in the bedroom).

I'm sure the salesman would tell you a 3/4 ton will pull it just fine.
I think the unloaded weight was around 14000# and that's what made me wonder how they keep the weight down on a six slided trailer thats almost 40 feet long.

Bob, the answer to your question is to build it with very light materials, and give it little CCC. In other words, it is pretty cheaply built. It is not even CLOSE to the quality of an Elite Suite. To compare them is a joke, IMO. And, yes, I looked at them.

The 37 FRE is the 6 slider. Floorplans are here (look at the bottom).
