I'm not sure if this is the correct place to ask this question, but here goes. I am going to order the Pressure Pro tire monitoring system and am trying to figure out how many sensors I will need. I guess it goes without saying that I don't need it for the spare tire, as I would just replace the sensor to the spare if I have to use change the tire. Or could I just drive one tire/sensor short until I get to a place to buy a new tire or have it repaired?
In reading the online installation instructions, I find I can plug the power cord into the cigarette lighter socket, OR, use the optional hard wire. Is there a benefit to one or the other, or is it just a matter of choice? With me, it will be a matter of what I think I can (or want to try) do. The cigarette lighter option sounds good to me, although what if I want to charge my phone or need the cigarette lighter socket for some other use. Is there a way to plug in more than one thing at a time?

Our truck has 2 plug in's. Maybe there is some kind of an adapter and someone else here can answer your question better than I. southwestjudy

I don't see why you would be "one sensor short" with a blowout. You just take the sensor off the flat tire and put it on the new one.
With the cigarette lighter question. . . you can get an adapter at places like Wall Mart that will plug into the recepticle and allow you to have two outlets. I wouldn't think the Pressure Pro unit would draw so much juice that you would have to worry about overloading the socket. They are fused anyway, so the worst that would happen is you would blow the fuse.
