I'm just curious to know if there are any full timers who live in a Class B.  In my never-ending search of web sites I've seen a couple of them that seem to be pretty roomy, the Safari Damara B+, for one, which has an actual bed rather than over the cab or fold out.  I can see that it might get cramped if you are in it full time.

I would imagin that it would...I know when we had our MH it got crowded with no slides. I have to have more room....but then to each his own. Some folks may do alright in less space...if they spend most of their waking hours out doors they would not need much room to sleep...eat...shower...and dress. Joe and Sherri

I should have started this process about 10 yrs ago - after living in a small backpacking tent for 3-1/2 months I would have been overwhelmed at all the space!  But I've lived by myself if a 3 bedroom house for the past 5 yrs and have expanded somewhat (my belongings, that is - not me).

Since I travel alone I don't need all the extra space that a couple would need.

We had a class B for a few years, made several long trips. DH traveled alone 2-3 months at a time and loved it. The shower was difficult, so we usually used the park showers, which are not always the cleanest. Also, bad weather for days at a time can be a problem. As a couple however, and this is now our only home, I would not be able to do in the B, even though we both loved it at the time. Much better than tent camping though, with full hookups, air conditioning, furnace, etc. On the positive side, a B or B+ can fit in almost any campsite or parking lot, and on nearly every road in the country. Not so with a big rig.

Thanks for the responses.  I just remembered that I have two dogs that would complicate things immensely (a 40 pounder and an 85#).  I think the ease of driving, parking, setting up and taking down, etc., would be great though.

Coach House makes very well made products and the Platinum is a B+ or small C depending on how you look at it. Their website is http://www.coachhouserv.com/. The new Platinum II is built on the Sprinter chassis and should get good mileage. I know an RV tech who owns a Platinum and he bought it because of the quality he could see and has not regretted his decision. They are well worth looking at if you want a small rig.
